Non Biking Questions:

What is your day job? Nurse
What is your proudest accomplishment? My two happy, healthy children.
What is your favorite non-cycling activity? Running
What do you do in your downtime?  (beside biking) Play with my kids!
What kind of vacations do you take?  (bonus: if you had to spend all of your vacations for the rest of your life in the same place, where would you go?) We take all kinds of vacations!  Beach vacations, Trips to visit family in Michigan and Pennsylvania, Colorado to bike and hike.

If I had to choose one place for the rest of my vacations, it would be Grand Cayman.  The entire island is surrounded by reef and there are over 300 ship wrecks around the island.  We would never get bored snorkeling!

What is your favorite movie and/or book? It is hard to pick a book or movie.  But my favorite TV series is Game of Thrones!
What was one of your first jobs? Pharmacy technician
If you were guaranteed to be successful in a different profession, what would you want to do? I wouldn’t change what I do!  I love being a nurse!

Biking or GBB Questions:

What are some of your earliest memories about bikes?  Do you remember your first bike? My first bike was a Strawberry Shortcake bike.  My sister and I had matching bikes that we got for our birthdays.  I remember my dad trying to teach us to ride.
Why is riding with GBB important to you? I have a standing date with some of my favorite people every week!  I also enjoy meeting new people!  I also love the confidence that biking with a group of women gives new riders.
What brought you to the sport of cycling?  Do you have a road bike or mountain bike? (or both?) My husband has been cycling for years.  I tried to ride with him but I would be dying by the end of the ride and he barely felt like he got a workout.  I would occasionally ride the greenway by myself but I started cycling consistently last spring when Angie Milam asked me to join her on a GBB ride.  I haven’t stopped since!   I have a mountain bike but have yet to ride it.  I am always on my road bike.
What do you love about bike riding?  What motivates you to put in the time and work? Adding diversity to my workouts is what motivates me.  Running can be hard on the body and riding still gives me a great workout without the stress to the joints – until I wreck avoiding a dog! J
What is your favorite bike route? Why? No real favorite.  I enjoy being on the bike, no matter where we go.
What is your favorite race?  Or ride? I have not done any official rides or races.  Trifest is my favorite triathlon.
If you could ride ANYWHERE in the world, where? Hawaii
What advice do you give to women who are new to riding a bike?  Or thinking of starting? Enjoy your ride.  If you make your rides enjoyable and don’t try to overdo it at the beginning, you will keep coming back.
What is your biggest cycling goal? A century ride
What cycling accomplishment are you most proud of? I keep getting back on the bike no matter how many times I fall off!

Ride Safe and Have Fun!
